Requirements:
- Diploma in Culinary Arts
- At least 2 years of work experience in the hospitality industry as a Sous Chef Pastry
- Basic cooking experience and ability to work well in a team
- Food Safety Certificate / Trade Certificates
- Good communication skills and the ability to receive and carry out instructions
- Verbal communication skills with good command of the English language
- Able to prioritize and carry out tasks with effective time management
- Honest, reliable, and a good team player
- Keen, ambitious, full of passion, integrity, and energy
- Proactive and taking initiative with hands-on approach
- Be cooperative with a team member
Responsibilities:
- Direct, control, and coordinate the activities of all chefs and kitchen hands engaged in preparing and cooking pastry, to ensure an efficient, profitable, and smooth food service at all times.
- Supervise all aspects of pastry production to ensure established standards are maintained.
- Ensure standards of hygiene and sanitation of the Kitchen are maintained at all times.
- Assist with pastry preparation and production at all times.
- Ensure all equipment is handled correctly and reports any faults to maintenance.
- Assist in buffet set up or special theme parties and participates with new ideas to improve and establish a business.
- Assist in kitchen administration duties and may deputize for the Executive Chef as and when necessary.
- Develops attractive menus and creates standard recipe cards with pictorials according to the Executive Chef policy.
