Requirements:

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts
  • At least 2 years Work Experience in Hospitality Industry in a kitchen role at Sous Chef level
  • Basic cooking experience and ability to work well in a team
  • Food Safety Certificate / Trade Certificates
  • Good communication skills and the ability to receive and carry out instructions
  • Verbal communication skills with good command of English language
  • Able to prioritise and carry out tasks with effective time management
  • Honest, reliable and a good team player
  • Keen, ambitious, full of passion, integrity and energy
  • Proactive and taking initiative with hands on approach
  • Be cooperative with team member

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, control and coordinate the activities of all chefs and kitchen attendants engaged in preparing and cooking food, to ensure an efficient, profitable and smooth food service at all times.
  • Ensure punctuality and appearance standards of all the Kitchen Team Members assigned to outlet or shift.
  • Assign specific duties to all Kitchen Team Members.
  • Recommend team members recruitment, transfer and disciplinary matters to the Executive Chef.
  • Supervise all aspects of food production to ensure established standards are maintained.
  • Ensure standards of hygiene and sanitation of the Kitchen are maintained at all times.
  • Assist with food preparation and production during busy periods and when required.
  • Ensure all equipment is handled correctly and reports any faults to maintenance.
  • Assist in buffet set up or special theme parties and participates with new ideas to improve and establish business.
  • Assist in kitchen administration duties and may deputise for the Executive Chef as and when necessary.
